Gossip Girl Writer does not Write Gossip Girl

reading this article http://www.observer.com/2008/
gossip-girl-creator-cecily-von-ziegesar-seeks-cum-laude?page=0%2C1
I noticed this quote:

Ms. von Ziegesar, meanwhile, has been preparing to make the transition for some time now. Though her name still appears on the front cover of all the Gossip Girl books—volume one came out in 2002—she stopped writing them herself almost three years ago, handing the reins to a stable of ghosts employed by Little, Brown. But this is a luxury most YA authors—especially the ones in their 20s who fell into the work after getting English degrees and M.F.A.’s and moving to New York—cannot afford.

um, what? I thought you wrote the books with your name on the cover, or if not at least kept it secret.

Comic Book Reviews

This week I was able to get a few good (and bad) comics.
1985:
Surprisingly good, nice to see Marvel poke fun at itself a little. Good art but a few small flaws with the writing, I will follow this one.
Verdict: 4 stars

Final Crisis:
Surprisingly bad, despite good art. As with many crossovers it is too complex to really follow. Although I must say, good for DC for making DC Universe Zero actually have something to do with this.

Tokeyopop's Contracts

After reading this http://destroyerzooey.livejournal.com/180842.html I wanted to mention another bit of their bad (for the writer or artist ) contracts. I was talking to one of their artists and learned how a contract for a series there works. It seems that you write the first one as a standalone volume with a contract to do a sequel. But..if the first one is a flop no sequel is ever released. So this damages the cohesion of the stories and makes so good stories not be told. I must admit I was not in the least surprised by this new contract they are doing. But really, no moral rights. That is too far, even for Tokeopop.

Saw Indiana Jones, enjoyed it

so I saw the new Indiana Jones movie today (as pretty much everyone else seems to have). I enjoyed it much more then I expected to. It was very entertaining and had good performances. I will post a more detailed review later (or not).

Super Heroes is a trademark jointly owned by DC Comics and Marvel Characters, Inc.

Looking at the information of the MET's superhero exhibit at the bottom of the page it says this
Super Heroes is a trademark jointly owned by DC Comics and Marvel Characters, Inc.
Can anyone tell me what the heck this is about. I do not really think that any company does or can own that. Superhero is a genre. Not a trademark.

Note: for those interested, the website I found this on is http://www.metmuseum.org/special/superheroes/index.asp

And the winner is...

and the winner of Artificial Intelligence is
David Cook
who in a year will have one flop album
and will be playing school fairs

In honer of his victory I present a short comic I made:
